Luther is a small community located about 15 miles from Oklahoma City on historic route 66. It was a thriving small town in the 1920s and prospered from the traffic along the "Mother Road." With the Depression, like many other small agriculture communities, Luther floundered and suffered hard times with many residents leaving to find work.
